Bibolina Chair - Seat Upholstered

The Bibolina chair emulates all the charm of a little bistro chair. By revisiting the lines of this iconic seat, Julie Richoz has created a contemporary object that reflects grace and subtle elegance. It showcases all the expertise of Alki’s master craftsmen and women, and meets today’s requirements of being light and stackable, with the intelligent use of raw materials.

The starting point for the Bibolina chair was to get back to Alki’s fundamentals: offer a solid oak, bentwood chair that is compact and easy to handle with no compromise when it comes to comfort. The back and legs of the chair are in solid bent oak. The slightly curved seat is in three-ply oak.

The name Bibolina, which means violin in Basque, echoes the feminine curves of the instrument that can be found in this product.Alki invited Franco-Swiss designer Julie Richoz to add her fresh perspective to the co-operative’s know-how: the multi-piece Bibolina Collection is the fun and audacious result.

Playing on the contrast of materials – metal and solid oak – and colours, this collection with its elegant, pared-down lines comprises a chair and a system of tables.
